“The MILF would like to congratulate the leadership of the Malaysia (Government) for its untiring efforts to do good to Bangsamoro,” he said.
“We are thankful that Malaysia and your prime minister are helping their Muslim brothers to end this 40 years of armed struggle.”
Eid said when the people of Mindanao found out Tun Abdul Razak Hussein was Najib’s father, they realised that Najib was sincere in helping them find peace.
“When he was prime minister, Razak helped us get financial aid from Libya. And his (Razak’s) son knows that is the obligation of a Muslim to help his fellow Muslims,” he said.
“The MILF leaders and soldiers have high expectations that this deal will work out.”
